Dior

Christian Dior SA, also known as Dior, is a French fashion house founded by Christian Dior in 1946 in France. The company operates over 160 boutiques worldwide. In addition to clothing, Dior also has a line of cosmetics. The company’s headquarters is located in Paris. The brand is primarily associated with women’s products, but it also offers men’s clothing and cosmetics under the Dior Homme division, as well as children’s clothing marketed under the Baby Dior line.

The first Dior fashion house was established in 1946 at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. However, the brand’s official beginning is often considered to be 1947. Dior was financially supported by renowned businessman Marcel Boussac, and the Dior fashion house became an integral part of his textile company. The company was largely dependent on Boussac Saint-Frères S.A., though Christian Dior retained rights to board membership, shares in the company, and one-third of the profits.

In 1957, the brand’s founder and creative director, Christian Dior, passed away. His successors included iconic designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferré, and John Galliano.
